Daily Habits That Detox Your Body

Daily Habits That Detox Your Body

Most of us want to enjoy great health and are aware that the basics like diet, exercise, sleep, and drinking enough water can help us achieve those goals.

But there are other “secret weapon” habits and practices you can add to your daily routine to help detox your body and allow it to function at its best so you can achieve optimal health, have loads of energy, and feel amazing.

Read on to discover what they are. If you’re already doing some of these, keep it up! If not, which ones can you add to your routine, starting today?

Take a Daily Probiotic

Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms that help us digest food, produce vitamins, and even destroy harmful cells. They can help your gut microbiome flourish by balancing the “good” and “bad” bacteria. And as we know, a healthy gut is crucial to overall good health.

You can get probiotics from fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, and pickles, and through cultured foods like kefir and yogurt.

If you don’t like those foods or you simply don’t eat them often, you can turn to a probiotic supplement, such as Synbiotic 365. It contains 14 powerful probiotic strains, herbal prebiotics, and a concentrated blend of B vitamins.

Drink Green Tea

Green tea is not only delicious, it’s great for you. Here are some of green tea’s amazing benefits:

  • Rich in L-theanine, which stimulates your brain and supports relaxation
  • Boosts your metabolism
  • May help burn fat and promote healthy cholesterol levels
  • Contains caffeine for alertness (but significantly less than coffee) and antioxidants that protect the brain

Three to five cups per day seems to be the recommended amount for optimal health benefits, so feel free to experiment with flavors and serving options (hot, iced, etc.) so you can keep your green tea habit flowing without getting bored.

Sprinkle On (Or Swallow Up) Turmeric

Known for its vivid yellow color (thanks to the anti-inflammatory compound, curcumin), turmeric is a top spice for gut-health support, which, in turn, helps detox your body. Check out the power of turmeric:

  • Helps heal your gut and aid in digestion
  • Contains antioxidant, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties
  • Supports skin health
  • Supports relaxation and well-being

To integrate turmeric into your day, sprinkle the powder/spice form on rice, veggies, chicken, and eggs. You can even add a dash to your morning coffee to kick up the flavor!

There are also no shortage of turmeric supplements on the market. If you go this route, be sure to choose one that’s non-GMO and is manufactured in small batches for the utmost quality control.

Get Enough L-glutamine

L-glutamine is an amino acid that assists many of your body’s functions, including building protein and supporting your immune system. It is naturally occurring in the body, and is also plentiful in foods like eggs, beef, skim milk, tofu, white rice, and corn.

Eating a diet rich in protein is one way to make sure you’re getting enough L-glutamine. You can also supplement with a product like NatureM.D. GutConnect 365, which contains 5,000mg of L-glutamine per serving.

Eat More Fiber

Fiber feeds your “good” gut bacteria, which supports intestinal health. It can also help improve digestion and speed up the movement of stool (aka waste) through the intestine.

To get more fiber in your diet, eat veggies, popcorn, avocados, whole grains, chia seeds, berries, legumes, and whole fruits like pears and apples.

These daily habits can keep your gut microbiome happy and your body in tip-top shape — plus they’re easy to incorporate into your routine! Give yourself the gift of health and give these secret weapons a try!

To your health and happiness…
